Bondi Beach

Bondi beach is famous for Bondi beach. Not only do many surfers come to this place for its waves, the beach volleyball event during the 2000 Sydney Olympics was held on this famous piece of sand too. Additionally, Bondi Beach is also home to the famous Bondi Market.  Bondi Beach is also home to the famous Bondi Market. This market is held every Sunday on the grounds of Bondi Public School. Often, you will be able to find second hand books, vintage clothing, designs from budding local designers, etc.

The market is definitely the holy grail for many bargain hunters. Summer is definitely the busiest time for this suburb with backpackers from all over the world flocking to enjoy the pristine water and Sydney siders coming to sun bake and escape from the heat.

Stanmore

Stanmore is quiet but is within walking distance of Norton St, Leichhardt and two or three minutes drive from Glebe Point Rd and King St, Newtown. Train links are excellent and Stanmore is only 7 minutes by rail to Town Hall and 15 minutes to Bondi Junction and North Sydney. It has one of the highest percentages of professional people in Sydney, due to its proximity to RPA, University of Sydney, UTS and the city.

Mainly doctors, university staff, media and business people. Stanmore Village is small but very liveable with several trendy cafes, a patisserie, architect and legal offices. Many students live here, too, because of the proximity to University of Sydney, UTS and Notre Dame.

Kensington

Kensington is the home to the renowned University of New South Wales. It is hence inevitable that Kensington has morphed into a University town over time. It is about a ten minutes’ drive to the city and a twenty minutes bus ride. Public buses service the suburb and they run on a regular basis. However, if you are heading towards the city during peak hours, there is a chance that the bus will not stop for you if it is full.

The streets of Kensington are generally clean and there are several restaurants along Anzac Parade, a newsagency and Moore Park Supa Centa is just a stone’s throw away from this lovely tree-lined suburb.

Kingsford

It is undeniable that Kingsford is surrounded by excellent facilities. These include: UNSW, Hospital Precinct, Quick access to Coogee, 6 min drive to Westfield Eastgardens and brilliant public transport network at your doorstep. It is so close to school and city; moreover there are so many good restaurants here.

More “elegant” and down-to-earth than glamorous or gaudy as opposed to some of its ritzier Eastern Suburb counterparts, Kingsford is a fairly subdued, largely residential suburb that derives most of its benefits from its proximity to many desirable parts of central Sydney rather than offering them itself.

Darlinghurst

Snuggled in between Surry Hills, Kings Cross and the CBD the suburb of Darlinghurst is well-located for a lot of fun and eating choices with exceptional bars, restaurants, cafes and shopping (boutique). This glamorous suburb features the famous Oxford Street, Taylor Square and Crown Street.

There is a hidden beauty about Petersham, with so many classic heritage facades and iconic buildings and spaces. Get in whilst you can, as Petersham is definitely an underrated gem.

Having recently been reinvigorated by the Broadway/Central Park redevelopments Chippendale has a massive range of food options including the famous Spice Alley. Spice Alley is an alleyway with an incredible array of restaurants, cafes and gelato places. There’s no place like Chippendale when it comes to finding a vibrant community with a village vibe on Sydney CBD’s doorstep.

Millers Point

Sensational place to live with the famous 2000 postcode. Walk to ferry, bus, train and future light rail. Harbour views are gorgeous.

Quiet and safe – there are always security guards patrolling the area. The Housing tenants had a strong neighbourly bond. The terraces they left are prime real estate and many are Heritage. Beautiful walks to The Rocks and Barangaroo and Circular Quay make this place the best suburb in Sydney. A lot of filming goes on and lots of tourists walk around taking photos.

Haymarket/Chinatown

Haymarket has it all with this ideal location and it’s 2000 postcode – this is the CBD! Featuring, of course, the wonderful and vibrant Chinatown, Paddy’s Market, Darling Harbour, Market City and UTS.

This suburb boasts extreme convenience that is within an easy walking distance to George Street. Here, there’s a bite for every budget, whether you’re after Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese. This suburb is mainly made up of apartments, backpackers and hotels rather than houses.

Potts Point/Kings Cross

Kings Cross/Pott Point has undergone a major transformation with a lot of the seedier side of things having disappeared. This suburb has indeed been taken over by young professional city workers, and travelers which has resulted in a much safer but still lively place to live.

Be sure to visit the nightclubs and restaurants in the area. This suburb is walking distance to the CBD and has all the amenities and transport you need.

Enmore

Such a beautiful quirky suburb. Inner west at its best – walking the rambling streets you’ll pass both renovated and grungey Victorian terraces, street art, people spending time in parks and in their front garden.

People are friendly and hipster and there are so many places for food and drinking, all within easy walking distance. Also walkable to the famous Newtown suburb.

Glebe

Glebe is a great place to live if you want to walk to work in Sydney Uni, Ultimo, or the CBD. Glebe’s position so close to the city and harbour make it a winner.

The light rail can take you into town in minutes or you can walk in around half an hour. Parts of Glebe are still being gentrified, this makes parts of it relatively affordable – a big plus in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

Surry Hills

Surry Hills is an incredibly popular suburb for young professionals, and working holiday makers looking for inner-city living at its best. This tree-lined suburb right next to the CBD is trendy, quirky, food-obsessed, ultra cool, and has amazing heritage architecture.

The Surry Hills lifestyle is convenient and cool with unlimited food choices and bar hopping experiences.

Redfern

In Redfern you’ll find many warehouse conversions, Victorian terrace houses and new apartment developments. Redfern has gone through a considerable revival. This suburb is packed with students and young professionals.

You’ll never be bored here with its range of cafes, restaurants, live music in bars and the arts scene.

Darlington

This suburb is popular with young professionals and students alike, due to its proximity to the city, universities and hospitals.

Darlington is a much smaller suburb than the others mentioned but not short of amenities, restaurants and pubs. With buses and the train station closeby you’re never far away from the CBD.

Paddington

Paddington has everything for those who love the inner city hustle and bustle. It is full of restaurants, boutiques and fashion stores.  Visitors flock to Oxford Street for the shopping and entertainment available. Oxford Street is also the venue for the annual Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

3 kilometers east of Sydney’s CBD, Paddington is spread among two local government districts. The area north of Oxford Street is part of the City of Sydney. Informally, people call it “Paddo” a lot.

Rosebery

“Whisper Quiet, only 10 mins from the city and beach, at an affordable price!”

“Leafy trendy neighbourhood”
